The Perfect Down Jacket - Dark Peak Gear Review

Simple and minimalistic. These two words describe my favourite style. I'm in love with outerwear as every modern woman needs them for work and play. I'm no exception, and today I want to show you some items that I got from one of my favourite down jacket brands ever.

The brand in question is called Dark Peak Gear which is a cool, chic and simple brand that sells some of the most functional and aesthetically down jackets that I've ever seen. The brand is catered towards men and women of all shapes and sizes, and they sell gorgeous down jacket suitable for layering during those cold winter days. They pride themselves on high-quality materials, impeccable designs and their signature range of affordable and lightweight down jackets- and trust me, all of their items are fantastic!

I first heard about Dark Peak Gear when I did some research into affordable and luxurious down jacket brands for women. The creators are passionate about great products but also believes in giving back to society and those who are in need. They adopt a "One Sold One Given" model where the company donates one down jacket to a homeless person in need for each jacket sold. A lot of homeless charities need warm winter jackets to give to their visitors, and I think Dark Peak Gear is very admirable for their charitable mission.

Anyway, I got a fantastic down jacket from the brand delivered to Hong Kong (where I'm living now)  and it came in a lovely parcel within 2 weeks. Take a look below!

I got this lovely NESSH Women's Lightweight Down Jacket which is absolutely my dream coat- and I'm so grateful that I found a colour and style that I love so much. This coat is made from a 100% goose down fill of 850 fill power, which gives it a beautifully puffy look without looking too bulky. The coat feels extremely luxurious and lightweight as down keeps you warm without the weight. The jacket weights around 322g and features an insulated hood and two pockets which you can put your items in.

The jacket also has a water-resistant outer coating and an elasticated hem, which means that it's extremely durable and suitable for hiking, outdoor activities and the winter cold. What I love most about the down jacket is that it also has a two-way YKK zip at the front, which means that the zipper can be adjusted from the bottom and top. It's perfect for when you want to loosen up the jacket from the bottom, when you're moving about to give yourself more room.

As for the quality, the jacket is outstanding and beautifully made. The fabric feels warm and waterproof, as well as soft on the skin too. I adore the NESSH jacket since it's super warm for the winter, and would make a great piece for layering over a thicker waterproof jacket or simply on it's own if you live in a warmer climate.

The coat itself is also flattering and lovely to wear - it definitely has a slim, tailored cut which gives it an extra level of sophistication when you're wearing the jacket just on its own. This staple piece can withstand the test of time, since it has a classic silhouette featuring a flattering waist-cinching shape and side panels to accentuate the silhouette. It looks like a coat that Kate Middleton would wear on a ski trip, and I'm absolutely loving the design!

Overall, Dark Peak Gear is definitely my go-to shop for minimalist, simple and beautiful down jackets. They do a huge range of colours as well as synthetic jackets if you don't want to wear goose down, and they all look amazing on men and women of any shape and size.
