Hey everyone! Can you believe it's 2026 already? I've officially spent over a year back in Hong Kong and it's time for another post about something dear to my heart- plants!
Now, every Chinese New Year, I think the most meaningful part for me isn’t just the decorations or traditions- it’s the time spent with family. 2026 feels pretty especially special. I feel like after a long year of work and responsibilities, this season gives me permission to slow down and be present.
I’ll be hosting reunion dinner at home this year, and I think there’s something incredibly heartwarming about gathering everyone around the table. I love preparing the house beforehand, making sure everything looks polished and beautiful. I feel like the way a home looks sets the tone for how people feel when they step inside.
But honestly, I can’t imagine completing the space without flowers. They add life and a sense of celebration that other decorations simply can’t create. As always, ordering was easy. Their user-friendly website is easy to navigate, and customer service was really smooth. Not all Hong Kong online flower shops can pull this off...frequently, what arrives looks vastly different. But just like before, the orchids surpassed my expectations.
This year, I chose a minimalist concrete pot, which the owner kindly helped me arrange. The matte grey of the concrete contrasts beautifully with soft white petals. It feels modern and subtle, but also matches the orchids very well. It sits on my dining table beautifully!
The delivery was prompt and precise as the shop arranged a specific date with me. On the arranged day, a kind delivery man carried the flowers up to my house and helped me set it up on the table. The orchids arrived securely packaged, the blooms flawless, and the concrete pot carefully wrapped to prevent chips.
The stems were staked high and towards and angle, and the overall arrangement felt very aesthetically pleasing. The shop also gave me some decorations to use on the flowers, so they included a little blue bird and some festive golden decorations to go with the orchids. These orchids have quickly become the centerpiece of my living space, instantly catching guests’ eyes!
I think this orchid pot transformed my living room for the new year. Every morning, I'm greeted with perfectly-formed blooms, and the sight of a beautiful pot of orchids on my table. It's a great start to the new year and I can't recommend getting something like this enough.
