I recently discovered a brand called Self Portrait whilst browsing dresses on ASOS, and they have the loveliest, most elegant, interesting and unique dresses I've seen in a while. Seriously, they're gorgeous! The patterns and colors are unlike anything I've seen before. I thought I'd share some of my favourite Self Portrait dresses with you for 2016 since they seem to be trending at the moment.
"Millie" Layered Dress - gorgeous floral print with a lace and peplum shape.
Florence dress - an edgy blue and black lace dress which looks super elegant.
Clementine Dress - super cool and wispy lace dress with an open front
Floral Panel Midi Dress - eye-catching and elegant blue lace dress, one of my favourites
My favourite 5 items from their collection must be the above dresses. However, it was really the Floral Panel Midi Dress that first caught my eye, as I saw replicates of it being sold online. It's a very famous design, and their dresses are frequently worn for celebrity or red-carpet events. The panel dress is so beautiful and unique- I've never seen anything like it. Each of their dresses look so unique and is sure to stand out from the crowd.
Don't you think that their collection look unique, elegant and edgy at the same time? It's feminine, yet not quite the usual type of dresses that you usually find. I think the dresses give off a very "cool" and "out of this world" vibe, but manages to be elegant and high-class at the same time. They also sell a variety of other types of dresses, including wedding dresses and formal maxi dresses. I'm so in love with their range.
A little about the designer: Self Portrait is a brand designed by Han Chong, a Malaysian designer and a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London. The brand was started in 2013 and has grown to be a rapid success, with the range being featured on Net A Porter and Bergdorf Goodman, attracting many buyers worldwide. They're worn by lots of celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Rachel McAdams, Beyonce and Kristen Stewart.
I am going to have to try buying or wearing one of these gorgeous dresses someday, but maybe for a special occasion or when I graduate. I love the floral and mixed patterns of their design- they manage to not look too old-schooled and is the perfect balance between vintage, elegance and edgy.
You can buy Self Portrait dresses on a variety of sites but my favourite is ASOS.com as they ship worldwide. They're not too costly, considering that they're an A-list label. Definitely affordable, as they say!
Check them out and let me know what you think!
