Hey there, shoe lovers! If you’re anything like me, finding the perfect pair of sandals that combine comfort and style can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. I remember the countless times I’ve sacrificed comfort for style, ending up with sore feet by the end of the day. Recently, though, I had the chance to review a great pair of shoes – Vionic's new Awaken Recovery Sandal. They’ve been a total life-saver for me, and I’m so excited to share my experience with you! Let’s dive into why these sandals have quickly become my go-to choice for any occasion.
Now, if you've been following me for a while you'll know that Vionic has always been one of my favorite brands because of their amazing arch support, but these new sandals have taken the meaning of "comfort" to a whole new level.
I really think it comes down to the arch support. I have pretty high arches, and finding shoes that offer the right support can be a challenge. But Vionic nails it every time. Their shoes always make my feet feel so comfortable and well-supported, and I never have to worry about aching feet at the end of the day.
The Awaken Recovery Sandal are part of Vionic’s new advanced recovery range of shoes, which are designed to help your feet recover after a long day. They’ve taken all that goodness and wrapped it up in a casual leather design that looks fantastic with pretty much anything. They have other shoes in the range including rubber sandals and those that have different-shaped straps but I chose these as it looked the most stylish and who doesn't love a bit of cream!
The sandals feature adjustable straps with a little gold embellishment, which I absolutely love. It means I can get the perfect fit every time. And let’s talk about the footbed – it’s like super sturdy and bouncy with every step. The dual-density cushioning is incredibly comfortable, and I really feel like it absorbs all the shock from walking on hard surfaces. It doesn't slip too, which is great for walking in the muddy road during rainy days.
One of the things I appreciate most is that Vionic offers half sizes. I’m usually between sizes, so I got these in a 38.5, and they fit perfectly. There’s nothing worse than having shoes that are too tight or too loose, but these sandals fit just right.
I’ve worn them with both a dress and jeans, and they look great with either outfit. The casual leather design is literally so versatile. Whether I’m dressing up a bit for brunch or keeping it casual for a day of shopping, these sandals have me covered. I honestly love how they can go from day to night without missing a beat.
The heel height is 1.62 inches, and the platform height is 0.75 inches, which gives just the right amount of lift without sacrificing comfort. The outsole is made from a high-traction rubber compound, so I never have to worry about slipping. Plus, the built-in "Vio Motion" technology footbed features contoured arch support, shock-absorbing cushioning, a deep heel cup for stability, and forefoot flexibility. All these features work together to make every step feel light and comfortable.
Honestly, I really think these might be the best sandals I’ve ever owned. Vionic has once again proven why they’re my go-to brand for shoes (and I own around 5 pairs from them).
