The Artisan Clinic- WiQo 7 Collagen MagicLift Treatment Review

Today, I want to honestly review my experience trying out the WiQo 7 Collagen MagicLift Treatment in The Artisan Clinic. This unique facial is an Italian aesthetic treatment that claims to immediately magically brighten, tighten, smoothen and lift, with no downtime and no injections. Loved by Jerry Yan in Taiwan and Jamie Yeo in Singapore, this non-invasive, needle-free facial was pretty attractive...So I booked a session to find out what it was like! 

A bit about the treatment and ingredients- WiQo is an Italian brand and this treatment was developed by dermatologists with over a decade of research. They created a serum containing 7 types of collagen, delivered into the skin by what they call a "sliding pressure" technique, assisted by a negative ion flow that helps the ingredients penetrate down to the skin in the deeper layers. The basic idea is that Type VII collagen acts like thread, knitting the loosened Type I and Type III collagen in ageing skin back together, which produces a firming effect.

I was very attracted to this facial because it involved no injections, no lasers, no pain, and no hiding at home afterwards. So let's jump to my experience trying out this at the Artisan Clinic in Singapore! 

The WiQo 7 Treatment

When I arrived, the clinic was very welcoming and offered me some tea and water. They also asked me to wait for their aesthetician, as she would be the one administering the treatment. I really loved the calm and comfortable interior of their clinic, and overall, the location was great as it was just above the MRT station. 

My skin condition wasn't too great before the treatment. My face looked dry, dull and a bit pigmented.

My aesthetician came and after cleansing my face of the sunscreen and makeup that I had on, she applied a calming, moisturising mask to prime the skin.

She then drew up the collagen solution with a syringe (used purely for measuring, I was relieved to confirm) and applied it to my forehead and cheeks, pressing it in with firm gliding and pressing motions using her fingers. Once the first layer absorbed, a second went on, then a third, and the same process moved section by section: forehead, eye area, cheeks, nose and chin.

 

The sensation is quite interesting. There's no pain, but there is a warmth and a tingling that builds as the layers go on, strongest for me around the nose and chin area. It's definitely not painful at all. I would place it similarly to a fruit acid peel and nowhere near the feeling you get when you do laser. 

After the full face was done, the residue was wiped off with damp gauze, at which point the heat on my face intensified, and then a regenerating cream went on. My lovely aesthetician also applied sunscreen and moisturiser and then everything was done in under 45 minutes. There was no down time and my face looked refreshed, and very shiny. The manual lifting has sharpened my face and reduced the puffiness, so my face looked sharper and more chiselled. I went back to work that afternoon. Nobody noticed anything.

My skin felt immediately brighter and more hydrated! 

What happened in the next few days

The actual results came the next morning. My skin felt very tight, like it has been lifted. distinctly. My forehead looked smoother and my whole face seemed brighter. 

Then came the part the treatment website mentioned- peeling. Around 3 days later, fine flaking started near my mouth, then spread to the nose, the T-zone, and eventually patches of the cheeks throughout. They were very mild and honestly not too noticeable. I found the results to be pretty cool, because usually peeling skin meant that you'd look much more refreshed after the peel works its magic. I was told not to apply retinol or Vitamin C, and wait for the skin to rejuvenate itself. 

By the end of the week, once the peeling settled, the results were pretty great. My pores looked tighter, particularly across the nose, my skin tone was more even, and my forehead lines were softer. My pores in particular looked much smaller and the skin seemed to have refreshed itself without asking! 

Is it a super efficient solution to ALL of your skin's problems? I don't think so. But I think this is a great rejuvenating, exfoliating and firming treatment with simple application method and a very enjoyable experience. The people I would recommend it to are those with dull skin, enlarged pores, or wrinkles who want meaningful improvement without needles. 

The clinic recommends a course of 3-4 sessions for the full effect, and based on my first, I am very keen to continue!
