How I corrected My Bad Back- Upright Go Review

I have really bad posture and I confess to sitting over 5-6 hours a day. It's really killing my back! Today I want to review a new cool device called Upright Go, which is a posture trainer that claims to correct your slouch and fix your posture through a device that's connected to an app.

I bought my device and it arrived via DHL quickly to Hong Kong. I opened the box and voila- there was a little white device inside a USB-chargeable case. It also came with a few adhesive stickers which can be used behind the device to stick on your back. I also got this cute little necklace which helps the device stick to your back without any adhesives.

This interesting device is not hard to configure although it can look confusing at the beginning. All you do is download an app and it allows you to connect the device seamlessly. This was done quickly and I didn't have to worry about where to press etc, as it was all done for me. I really love the app's easy-to-use interface and design, as it was bright and colourful.

The app allows you to calibrate your posture so that the device would know when you're tilting forward. This is pretty smart and novel, as this device will vibrate gently when you're leaning too far forwards. The app requires you to calibrate your starting position everytime you use it though, which can be time-consuming but overall it's pretty straightforward and quick.

But does it work? Let me tell you my experience with it after playing with it for a few weeks.

First, the device really reminds me to sit straight without hurting me in any way. I was scared it would vibrate too much and "shock" me but it totally didn't. It was a gentle buzz which reminded me to sit up. This was extremely useful for students like me who slouch and sit in front of the computer everyday, so I'm pretty sure this device is a miracle for people like me.

Second, although configuring the app everyday can be hard it is worth it as you can wear this when walking, sitting or pretty much in any position. I would say the app's pretty good in reminding you when you're slouching, or guiding you through "training" and "tracking" modes. The training mode means the device vibrates, but the tracking mode simply tracks your posture without giving you any notice so you can review your statistics whenever you want. It's super useful to have this and I'm grateful that the app made me realise how badly I was slouching.

Third, the device feels easier to wear when you don't use adhesives. I used this Upright Go necklace which is affordable and convenient, and I prefer this necklace over the stick-on pads that the original device was designed for. I'd actually recommend getting this necklace if you're wearing this device for the long-run.

Overall, my feelings towards this device is positive and I think my posture improved after a 2 week use. I feel better and I automatically sit straighter knowing that something's tracking my posture. For people like me who sit a lot this device is definitely a must-try. There isn't anything out there right now that evaluates your posture any better than the Upright Go, and I'd highly recommend you check it out.
