As a girl living in England, it's always a huge pleasure to discover awesome, traditional British brands that manufacture high-quality, long-lasting apparel. British brands usually have a particular style- they're more sophisticated, elegant and classy. Today, I want to introduce you to one of my favourite, British-made knitwear brands- Shackleton.
A bit about the brand- The Shackleton Company is built on the shoulders of Sir Ernest Shackleton, a British polar explorer who led three British expeditions to Antarctica. As a pioneer of some of the bravest, most daring explorations in the world, his legacy is carried forward by his granddaughter, who supported the brand throughout it's inception. As a result, the brand sells clothes that are tried and tested in Antarctica- they have lovely warm merino wools, knitwear, base layers and thick jackets that can withstand the cold winters, as well as even frostier environments!
The company also supports expeditions to Antarctica, and has a dedicated page showcasing everyone who has worn their products to journeys to the end of the world!
Anyway, I recently ordered 3 items from Shackleton, and they arrived in a beautiful box in the mail. I want to move on to talk about each item, and share with you my honest opinions of my haul. In my opinion, these are some of the best jumpers to get your man!
The first item that I got was this gorgeous McNish Merino Crew Neck Pullover- this jumper was named after McNish, Shackleton’s carpenter – the man who manufactured the boat James Caird for its trip across the Southern Ocean. In terms of the design, I love the crew neck design of the jumper as it is warm and keeps your body heat in. The jumper is also incredibly flattering on any man's body, as it is fitted, but not too tight or too loose.
As for the style, you can see that the jumper that I got came in a lovely Ocean Blue colour. I chose this for my boyfriend because I figured that he'd like something bright. However, Shackleton also sells these in a variety of colors, including red, dark blue and black. There's something for everyone! The Shackleton logo is stitched on the upper arm, so it's subtle and unnoticeable, which makes the jumper simple and clean to look at.
In terms of the quality, the jumper is excellent as it is made using the best quality materials available. The jumper is made from 100% merino wool, which is durable, sweat-absorbent and odour-free. Merino wool is one of the warmest and most luxurious materials that one can buy. It's prized for it's warmth, texture and look, as it drapes over the body extremely well.
The second item that I got- and this is a wardrobe essential for every guy- is this gorgeous Merino Half Zip Jumper. This lovely merino wool jumper is again made from the highest-quality merino wool, which means that the jumper is finely stitched, knitted and made to perfection. In fact, this has got to be one of the coolest jumpers that you can get a guy, because it has little finger holes in the sleeve so that his hands can be kept warm in extreme temperatures!
I also love the zip detail at the front of the jumper, as it adds an extra edge to the jumper and makes it more stylish. This jumper is perfect for layering underneath a jacket or a coat, as it's super thin, fine and delicate, yet durable at the same time. It also fits really well, as the sizing is a slim-fit, and this jumper simply looks so flattering on any body type! This Half Zip Jumper from Shackleton has got to be one of the best jumpers that I've ever seen!
Finally, I want to show you this gorgeous Light Grey Merino Wool t-shirt that I got from Shackleton. Now, Merino Wool tees are the latest trend for guys or girls who like to travel, because of their unique physical properties. Merino wool is absorbent, light, extremely thin, durable and also keeps you cool during the day and warm at night. In fact, merino wool is a favourite for travellers because it never absorbs odours from your body, so you can wear this tee all day without the shirt feeling sticky or wet.
Shackleton's tee really impressed me as it is extremely fine and made from high-quality materials. I found that this tee pairs well with anything in my closet, and it is unisex in design so I can wear this tee with my casual outfits. As for the details, there are rib panels long the waist, which nips and tucks at all the right places. This tee is particularly flattering for men who have an athletic body, as it would enhance the shoulder and arm area!
Overall, Shackleton represents the best of British fashion, and their products are all 100% made in Britain. This means that the quality is guaranteed, and every one of their pieces carries traces of the historical legacy of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his explorations. I really do love their range of men's clothing, and I think they'd made the best jumpers you can get your boyfriend or husband for the coming months!
