A Girl's Guide to Leather Jackets! Fadcloset Review

Do you love leather jackets as much as me? If you do, then read on, for I want to talk a bit about how and where to get that perfectly-fitting leather jacket, and how to style them in order to look fashionable and effortlessly chic at all times. I've long been a leather jacket fan, because these jackets go pretty much with everything. However, I've always struggled to find a suitable leather jacket because there are so many choices on the high street that are either too overpriced, or too ill-fitting or just unflattering on my body type.

I recently ordered a customized leather jacket from Fadcloset, an awesome leather apparel and accessories brand headquartered in California, USA. A bit about the brand- Fadcloset has been making leather clothing since1965 and has over 40 years of experience in manufacturing high-quality leather jackets. What makes them special is that they have their own tannery and factory, which means that everything is quality-checked and made with to environmentally friendly processes! 

After a really positive experience with them, I want to share the top 3 things I learned about how to find the best leather jacket for you, as well as talk about my jacket from Fadcloset. 

1) Fit is important 

Fit is arguably the most important aspect of a leather jacket, because it shouldn't be too loose or too tight. There's nothing worse than a loose-fitting jacket. Fadcloset delivers worldwide, and my favourite thing about them is that they have hundreds of styles for men and women which can be made to measure using your body measurements. I simply ordered the jacket that I wanted, and chose a customized size and the shop helpfully emailed me to confirm the measurements. 

The customer service team were really helpful and I'm really grateful for them because they checked all my measurements and made sure that they were alright. One thing about many leather jacket shops is that they only offer standard sizes and these often do not fit perfectly. I am really pleased with the jacket in the end because it fits me perfectly, especially at the chest, shoulder and waist area! It was snug but not constricting. 

2) Type of Leather 

Fadcloset offered a choice of lambskin, sheepskin, cowhide and buffalo leather, but ultimately I decided to go for a lambskin leather jacket. I chose lambskin because it is the softest and lightest of all leathers, and the result is that the jacket is extremely delicate and lightweight. Although I adore this leather type, I would advise you to go for a tougher type of leather if you want to wear the jacket for outdoor events or activities, because lambskin is too delicate for the task.

I personally love sheepskin leather best, because it is light enough to be worn but thick and supple enough to offer protection against minor scrapes and cuts. Cowhide is always a better choice for men, and it really depends on why you want a leather jacket in the first place! I'm really happy with Fadcloset's leather quality, because it felt buttery smooth and amazing to touch. The jacket is incredibly luxurious and I cannot stop wearing it. It's incredible! 

3) Color and Style 

The colour and style of your jacket is very important because the right colour and style can enhance your best features and make you stand out from the crowd. I chose the light beige jacket from Fadcloset precisely because I knew that beige suited me most as I had black hair. However, if you have lighter hair, a darker jacket would definitely make you stand out. 

Fadcloset offers a variety of colors and styles for both men and women, including biker jackets, bomber jackets, blazers and vintage styles, which is great because you will find something right no matter what body shape or size you are! I love their range of cool biker jackets because of their amazing designs. Fadcloset pays incredible attention to details, and my jacket came with double belts on either side which gave it a cooler, stylish vibe. 

4) Choose high-quality brands

The brand of the leather jacket is the most important aspect, as it really makes a difference in terms of the overall quality of the jacket. As you can see, I took lots of photos for those of you who want to check out the quality and design of this Fadcloset jacket. Design-wise, the jacket features a classic biker lapel, has two small pockets, snap cuffs and side buckles at the back. I love Fadcloset's attention to detail as all the zips were in a brass colour, so it did not make the jacket look odd. I also love the lining of the jacket, as it was silky, smooth and thin.

Fadcloset clearly puts a lot of attention to their manufacturing process, and the quality is extremely good- better than the huge designer brands like Chanel, Gucci or Ralph Lauren. Fadcloset also has their own tannery so everything is made with the highest quality materials. Unlike other leather jackets that I've had, there was absolutely no smell at all here, meaning that the tanning and dyeing process was controlled extremely well. Further the jacket was not stiff and hard, and didn't require "breaking in" as it was already buttery soft!
