As you all know, I'm a huge fan of ethical and sustainable fashion. No matter where I go, I always try to look for local ethical boutiques to buy my clothing from. Why is this important? To me, it's important because clothing these days are usually made from unethical and harmful ways - think sweatshops, child labour and exploitative manufacturing processes. They're no fun to think about at all!
I recently discovered a fantastic brand called stick + stone - not only do they have a wonderful name, but they also have an amazing debut collection featuring lots of gorgeous ethical dresses. I was astounded when I saw their site, because all their clothing looked beautiful and crisp.
Why are they special? All sticks + stone products are made in local Australian production houses by specialised machinists. With their business model, everyone who played a part in making the items works in a safe and ethical environment without abuse or exploitation. This means that each purchase actually goes back to the local Australian communities who helped made your clothes.

The best thing? Everything from sticks + stone is also made from 100% organic cotton, which feels super soft on the skin! I decided to try on 2 outfits from them to show you what it's like in real life…
1) The Seeker dress- when I got this dress in the mail, I was really surprised because it looked smaller than I expected. However, when I tried it on, I realised that it fits just perfectly on my body! It is compact so it fits into smaller backpacks (if you want to bring it to a wedding or a holiday abroad) but it unfolds beautifully, and has a ruche, flowy drape all the way down the dress.
I absolutely adore this staple piece. It's the most iconic dress from Sticks + Stone's first collection, and it's no surprise because the quality is particularly good. The Seeker dress is made from organic, heavy cotton which drapes beautifully as you can see in the photo below. It also has an asymmetric hemline so one of your legs will show through. I love this design, because it's so elegant, chic and carefree at the same time!
2) Waves Mini Organic Dress - this is absolutely my favourite item on the site as it's not only super cute but also has a unique and lovely design. This dress fits me perfectly and hugs in all the right places - it has a tie front for the waist but you can also leave it untied like me, because I think it gives this dress a more bohemian, relaxed feel. The colour is absolutely gorgeous - it's bright coral in colour, and it looks very good in photos.
I'd say that this is one of the best cotton dresses I've ever owned. Honestly, the design, cutting and length is pretty on point, and it looks really good when I wear it to parties or even to beach holidays. This dress is definitely a 10/10!
